The Friday 56
The Friday 56 is hosted by Freda over at Freda's Voice . The rules are simple: *Grab a book, any book. *Turn to page 56. *Find any sentence that grabs you. (I cheat sometimes and put a little more than a sentence!) *Post it. *Add your post URL to the Link. This week The Friday 56 is taken from The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot which is absolutely amazing so far! "The normal cells which make up our bodies are tiny objects, five thousand of which would fit on the head of a pin," he said, his voice a bit too loud and stilted. "How the normal cells become cancerous is still a mystery."
oh my, that looks creepy.
ReplyDeleteIt's Ok - he is friendly. He comes out to sun bake each day at my mum's house :)
DeleteI know what that fellow is...he's a Blue-Tongued Skink! (At least, that's what we call ours. I inherited one who lives in my school library.)
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Wordless Wednesday. Stop by, if you can, and share your thoughts.
You got a good close up shot. Have a great day Pamela!
ReplyDeleteFriendly or not, safe or not, I'm not a snake person. *shudder*
ReplyDeleteOh I just saw the little legs. Not a snake, I guess.
ReplyDeleteHe has some nice coloring - I always enjoyed watching the same critters come out in the sun - like they have a routine -- and my cats know the schedule - watching from inside the house (thank goodness for big windows)
ReplyDeleteACK!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome, I'd love to have something like that but my family would freak out!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot!
